One-page summaries

Some technical meetings request that you write a one-page summary. This can be ne-page summary is a quite difficult task. You need to convince the reader that you have a solid contribution, yet you do not have much space.

Here are some tips of the format:

  1. Write the 1-page summary as if it was a one long abstract.

  2. Do not use any sections.

  3. Bibliography should be minimal.

  4. If you are short on space, acknowledgments could be added as a last sentence to the text.

Here are more tips for the content:

  1. Write 1..2 sentence stating the context.

  2. Write 1..2 sentences motivating your approach.

  3. Write 1 paragraph explaining your contributions, experiments & results.

  4. Write 1 short paragraph explaining what you are currently doing, listing sources of support (including the CAREER grant because it supports me).

  5. Write a shorter set of references (use only initial and last name).
